How I experience Sekhem-Seichim Reiki (SSR)

SSR Shenu for experience Sekhem-Seichim Reiki (SSR)If you want to expand your knowledge of energy work, and particularly, the various types of Reiki this blog will tell you how I experience Sekhem-Seichim Reiki (SSR) as a practitioner and teacher. (I’ve written similar blogs for each of my energy modalities as well.)

I want to stress this information is a personal account and not an objective or more universally-felt description. In fact, everyone perceives or experiences energy a bit differently. Still, it should give you a good idea.

What’s Sekhem-Seichim Reiki (SSR)

Sekhem-Seichim Reiki (SSR) is my favorite form of Reiki. It’s hard to say any form is my absolute favorite because each type has some unique and wonderful applications. When the need for that specific application arises, that form is the one I like to use.

But, in my gut (that second brain) and in my heart I feel a stronger resonance with or connection to SSR. This could be related to the simultaneous initiation I experienced upon reading Diane Shewmaker’s book on SSR: “All Love: A Guidebook for Healing With Sekhem-Seichim-Reiki and SKHM.”

In addition, my central light column is quite responsive to SSR energy and tends to widely expand when I work specifically with SSR. For clarification. the central light column is the energetic column running down the middle of the body along the spine where the chakras are located. Some people, especially those who work with kundalini energy, know it as the Sushumna

How SSR Feels

SSR is definitely heavier than say Usui Reiki. When I say heavier, I mean the sensation in my hands is heavier or more tactile. People typically say that it’s cooler and like water. I agree that it’s like water, but I don’t always feel that it’s cooler. All forms of Reiki make me cooler sometimes and warmer other times. I guess, when SSR makes me cool, it does tend to be cooler than with say Usui Reiki energy.

Special Uses of Sekhem-Seichim Reiki (SSR)

Generally, I feel that SSR works quickly and dramatically. For example, often when I use an SSR symbol to remove an energy blockage, it’s like bam! It’s gone! Or, maybe it’s more like swish! It’s washed or drained away. Relatively speaking, SSR is not gentle. For this reason, SSR may not be the choice when I want the effect to be very subtle.

SSR has a symbol for sealing or closing energetic leaks, unlike basic Usui Reiki. The SSR approach simply feels more effective and complete. Therefore, even when I’m working mainly with Usui or Karuna energy, I’ll use that SSR symbol when the need arises.

I also like that there are SSR symbols aligned with finding or clarifying personal and spiritual paths or the soul’s purpose. The SSR symbols are unique in this way, and the application comes up a lot during Reiki sessions.

Lots of people have pathfinding intentions (personal or spiritual) or concerns, and imbalances in the solar plexus chakra are closely tied to life path choices and self-actualization. It seems more and more clients are coming for sessions because they are seeking a change, a purpose, something that resonates with them on a personal, energetic, or spiritual level and is more aligned with who they are deep down. It’s my experience that clients respond quite noticeably to these SSR symbols.

The Experience Of SSR Attunements

SSR attunements, for those who give the attunements, are more active and ritualistic than those of other Reiki forms. The attunement is like a dance and almost like a trance. If I do a bunch of attunements all at once, it gets more and more trance-like. The state is heart-centered and joyful.

With SSR, I sense like I’m connected to something much, much bigger. I haven’t been able to discern just what that is, but I have that feeling. Perhaps this is related to the initiation. I just don’t know. This energy is still evolving for me and that is something I find alluring as well.

Remember, this is my personal experience. Others can perceive or experience SSR quite differently.
